Here's what's on my in-the-theater to-see list these days:
The Wrestler
The Reader
Moscow, Belgium
Secret of the Grain
Gran Torino
The Spirit
Revolutionary Road
Let the Right One In
As to DVDS, we're in the process of watching the movies of Arnaud Desplechins (director of "A Christmas Tale," blogged below). And we're about to watch "Brick."

Gran Torino is top of my list. Partly because it's a Michigan movie, partly because it seems right for the times, and partly because of Clint Eastwood, whose Dirty Harry stuff was never among my favorites, but whose recent stuff has been amazing.
I actually loved his Dirty Harry stuff...which I watched when I was about twelve. Where the hell were my parents? But his current stuff, I agree, is much more...artistic. (Do you feel lucky????)
